Dr. Hyewon Hyun

Course Director

Dr. Hyewon Hyun is a radiologist and a nuclear medicine physician at Brigham and Women’s Hospital. She is the Program Director for the Joint Program in Nuclear Medicine at BWH and Harvard Medical School. Dr. Hyun is dedicated to innovating education of future imaging physicians and other healthcare providers who will work to provide equitable care in a just society.

Dr. Michael A. Buckner

Dr. Michael A. Buckner is currently a first year radiology resident at Brigham and Women’s Hospital. He attended The University of Massachusetts Amherst where he majored in biochemistry and molecular biology. He received his medical degree from The University of Massachusetts Medical School. He is passionate about fighting inequality. In medical school he developed an after-school program to expose underrepresented students to opportunities in the healthcare industry. He was a mentor in the Big Brother's Big Sister's program for over 6 years.

Dr. David Odo

Dr. David Odo is the Director of Academic and Public Programs, Division Head, and Research Curator at the Harvard Art Museums. He is a visual and material anthropologist, with primary research and teaching interests in the anthropology of art, especially early Japanese photography. Odo oversees the Museums’ academic and public engagement programs, working closely with colleagues from all divisions of the Museums and faculty from across the university to provide academic and public audiences with opportunities to explore the collections. This includes Harvard University course collaborations, student programs, and public education at the museums.

Dr. Hina Jayantilal Shah

 

Dr. Hina Jayantilal Shah is a nuclear medicine physician, trained in India and United States, currently completing training in Joint Program in Nuclear Medicine at Brigham and Women’s Hospital and Harvard Medical School.  Dr. Shah has special interest in teaching, neuronuclear imaging and therapeutic use of radiopharmaceuticals in oncology.  She is also a strong supporter of women and other underrepresented people who work in the healthcare field.  Her vision for the future is that of a world in which education and expertise cross all boundaries.

Dr. Ellen SunDr. Ellen Sun is a fellow in emergency radiology at Brigham and Women’s Hospital in Boston. Dr. Sun completed residency in diagnostic radiology at Brigham and Women’s Hospital in 2020. She earned her M.D. from University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine. Prior to entering medical school, Dr. Sun was a recipient of the National Institute of Health (NIH) postbaccalaureate intramural research training award and spent two years performing translational research at the National Heart, Lung and Blood Institute in Bethesda, Maryland. Dr. Sun has special interests in medical education, musculoskeletal imaging, emergency and trauma imaging.

 

Dr. Jen Thum

Dr. Jen Thum is the Inga Maren Otto Curatorial Fellow in the Division of Academic and Public Programs at the Harvard Art Museums. Although trained as a specialist in ancient Egyptian art, Jen supports a range of teaching, learning, and research activities at the museums involving art from all of the museums’ divisions. She partners with Harvard faculty and students across disciplines to connect works of art to their curricula, and co-teaches the Seeing Beyond the Image: Art Education and Radiology program for residents at Brigham and Women’s Hospital. Before coming to Harvard, Jen worked at the RISD Museum and the Sheridan Center for Teaching and Learning at Brown University.
