You can open one or more shell terminal on O2 login nodes directly from within the O2Portal. The OOD shell terminal behaves as any other terminal you might use, you will be able to run any Slurm and Linux commands from OOD O2 terminal.
To open the O2 terminal click on Clusters and >_O2 Production Cluster Shell Access
a new tab will open and you should see a page that looks like:
and you can open additional terminal in new tabs by clicking again on the same link.
you can’t open graphical interface (GUI) software from this terminal. If you need to run a GUI based software in OOD that is not already available under the APPs, please reach out to rchelp@hms.harvard.edu and we can help you selecting the best approach.
